Getting to Brisbane Airport by Public Transport
Two terminals, a few options, one slightly pricey train.

Brisbane Airport is one of the few places where the cheapest public transport option and the easiest one are not the same thing. Here is how to get to both terminals, and how to decide what is worth it.
Getting here by train, bus & ferry

The Airtrain: fast, direct, not 50¢
The Airtrain runs straight from the city and the Gold Coast line to both the Domestic and International terminals. It is quick and dead simple, but it is operated separately from standard TransLink services, so it charges its own fare and is not part of Brisbane's flat 50¢ deal.
For a time-sensitive trip with luggage, it is usually worth it. Our route planner flags when an Airtrain fare applies, so you can see the trade-off before you commit.

The cheaper, slower routes
If you would rather keep it cheap, a combination of train and bus can get you close to the airport precinct on standard fares, with a bit more walking and waiting. It is not glamorous, but for an unhurried trip it does the job.
Use live departures to line up the connection so you are not left waiting at a stop longer than you need to be.
Give yourself a buffer
Whatever option you pick, plan to arrive earlier than feels necessary. Public transport to an airport works brilliantly right up until one delayed connection turns into a missed flight. Build in slack, and if you are travelling at night, double-check the last service home times for the return leg too.
