Reliability questions

What is the least reliable train line in Brisbane?+

The 'least reliable routes and lines' table on this page ranks every line and route by unplanned cancellations and major delays over the tracked period, worst first, updated daily. Scheduled trackwork is excluded so a line closed for Cross River Rail isn't counted as unreliable.

Which Brisbane bus route gets delayed or cancelled the most?+

The league table ranks bus routes alongside train lines by unplanned disruption. Filter by region for Brisbane, the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast, and switch the time window between the last 7 days, 28 days or all data.

How is reliability measured here?+

Reliability counts unplanned disruptions only: cancellations and major delays as reported in TransLink's live feed, with scheduled works (maintenance, construction, holiday timetables) excluded. It's a floor, not a ceiling — very short-lived issues that clear between our 10-minute samples can be missed.

Are trains getting less reliable in Brisbane?+

The trend chart on this page shows unplanned disruptions per day, so you can see whether reliability is improving or worsening over the tracked period. Monitoring began on 7 July 2026.

How we measure reliability

Reliability here means unplanned disruption: services cancelled or hit with major delays, as reported in TransLink's live GTFS-realtime feed, sampled every 10 minutes. We exclude scheduled works — maintenance, construction and holiday timetables — because a line closed for planned trackwork isn't unreliable, it's under works. Weather and incidents are counted, as passengers still feel them. Each event counts once per day it is active; per-route figures use the route or line the alert names, so blanket network notices sit under stations and notices rather than any one line. Very short-lived issues that clear between samples can be missed, so these figures are a floor. Reliability tracking began on 8 July 2026.
