Beenleigh line status

Live closures & works · the southside line through Logan

The Beenleigh line carries Logan's commuters and shares its southern corridor with the Gold Coast trains — a double workload that makes it one of the most trackwork-affected stretches on the network. Here's what's happening on it right now, and the moves when it's buses instead.

Why this corridor cops it

South of the river, the Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines run the same tracks — so trackwork here closes both at once, which is why the closure announcements usually name them together. The bigger picture of what's being built and why is in the trackwork guide; the coastal end's own pulse is on the Gold Coast line status.

Why is the Beenleigh line closed so often?+

It shares the southside corridor with the Gold Coast line, and that stretch carries some of the heaviest trackwork on the network — including works connected to Cross River Rail. When one closes for works, both usually do.

How do I get through Logan when the trains are down?+

Rail replacement buses cover the closed section, and the busway plus Logan's bus network give alternatives for many trips — the journey planner works it out live for your exact start and end.
