Are Brisbane trains running today?
π Running, but with disruptions
There is an unplanned disruption on the train network right now, affecting lines right across the network. TransLink attributes it to industrial action. The full detail is on the live board below.
Separately, 12 planned track closures are scheduled on lines right across the network. These are announced in advance, mostly run late at night or at weekends, and have buses replacing trains on the closed section, so they are not a sign anything has gone wrong today.
Straight from TransLink's live alert feed, rechecked every few minutes. Trains, buses, ferries and trams are all on the board below.

Disruption questions
Are Brisbane trains running today?+
Usually yes: the Brisbane rail network runs to its normal timetable most days. The banner at the top of this page gives the live answer, checked against TransLink's own alert feed every few minutes, and names any line with an unplanned disruption on it right now. It counts planned track closures separately, because on a typical day most of the big alerts on the network are scheduled late-night and weekend works with buses replacing trains, which is not the same as something having gone wrong.
Why is my train line down today?+
Most weekend train disruptions in Brisbane are planned track closures for Cross River Rail and maintenance works, with buses replacing trains on the affected section. Weekday disruptions are usually incidents or industrial action. The live board above shows every current alert straight from TransLink.
Why was my bus cancelled?+
Individual bus trips are sometimes cancelled at short notice, most often for staff availability or mechanical issues. Cancellations appear on the live board above within about a minute, and the next service usually runs as normal.
Are there train track closures this weekend?+
Weekend track closures are announced in advance and appear on the live board above with their end dates, usually as 'Weekend track closures' alerts naming the affected lines. Buses replace trains on the closed sections. Filter the board by Trains to see what's planned.
How current is this page?+
The alerts come straight from TransLink's real-time feed and the board refreshes every minute while you have it open, so it reflects what the network knows right now.
My route is disrupted, how do I find another way?+
Use the trip planner: it works from live data, so it routes you around cancellations and closures rather than quoting the printed timetable.
