The easy answer: People First Stadium at Carrara is not on the train line, so on event days TransLink runs shuttle buses from Nerang station, from Broadbeach South on the G:link tram, and from a park n ride, straight to the ground. Your event ticket covers free public transport on the day, so you can train or tram in, hop the shuttle, and skip driving into Carrara.

Here is the detail and the trip home. The trip planner finds the fastest route from your door, and from Brisbane our Gold Coast line guide covers the ride down.

The easy way in: shuttle buses

Carrara sits inland on the Gold Coast, away from the train line, so the simplest way in on event days is the shuttle bus. Services run to the stadium from Nerang station, from Broadbeach South on the G:link tram, and from a park n ride, before and after the event. They set down and collect close to the ground.

Shuttle buses link the stadium to the train and tram.

By train and tram

Nerang is the nearest station, on the Gold Coast line, but it is about a 25-minute walk from the stadium, so most people take the shuttle from there instead. From the coast strip you can ride the G:link tram to Broadbeach South and pick up the shuttle. From Brisbane, take the Gold Coast line to Nerang and connect.

Free travel with your ticket

For events your ticket includes free travel on the G:link tram, Queensland Rail services and Surfside buses, from about four hours before the event to four hours after. Show your ticket as you board, and the whole trip in and out can be free.

Parking, and why the shuttle wins

Carrara has parking, but the roads around the stadium funnel into a slow crawl after a big crowd leaves at once. The shuttle buses run on their own loops to the train and tram, so you avoid the worst of the traffic and have nothing to park.

Getting home after

After the final siren, head for the shuttle back to Nerang station or Broadbeach South for the train or tram home. Check the planner for the next service, and for late games our last train home guide covers the after-dark timetable.
