Getting to Suncorp Stadium by Public Transport
Milton station, free travel on your ticket, and home before the car park empties.

The short version: take the train to Milton station, walk the last 700 metres or so up to the ground, and for most major events your match ticket doubles as a free public transport ticket on the day. No parking, no queue out of a car park at full time, and you keep moving while the traffic around Milton sits still.
Here is the detail: every way in by train, bus and on foot, when the free travel applies, and where to head afterwards. When you are set, the trip planner will give you the fastest route from your exact starting point.
The fastest way in
Milton station is the closest, about 700 metres from the stadium and a flat ten-minute walk up Castlemaine Street. Roma Street is the other main option, around fifteen minutes on foot through the parkland, and it is handy because every Queensland Rail line stops there, so you rarely need to change trains to reach it.
On a big night the trains run hard before and after the event, and station staff guide the crowds through. Coming from the south or east, Roma Street is often the simpler interchange. From the west, Milton drops you almost at the gate.
Free travel with your ticket
For most major events at Suncorp your event ticket includes free travel on the Queensland Rail City network (Airtrain excluded) and on Brisbane buses. The free window runs from about four hours before kick-off to four hours after the final whistle, and for concerts it usually starts from midday. Just show your event ticket to rail and bus staff as you board.
It is always worth checking your specific event, but for the footy and the big concerts this is the norm, and it makes the train the obvious choice over a fifty cent fare you do not even have to pay.
Event shuttle buses
On major event nights there are direct shuttle buses to the stadium from several points around Brisbane, typically the city, Chermside, Garden City at Upper Mount Gravatt, Carindale and The Gap. They set down and pick up close to the ground, which is ideal if you are not near a train line.
Many of these run via the busways. If that is new to you, our guide to the Brisbane busways explains how the bus-only roads work and why they beat the traffic.
Parking, and why to skip it
There is very little parking at the stadium itself, and the streets around Milton, Paddington and Petrie Terrace fill fast and carry event-day clearways and restrictions. Even if you find a spot, you will spend the time you saved sitting in the post-match crawl while the trains have already cleared the crowd.
For a sell-out, public transport is genuinely faster door to door, and with free travel or a fifty cent fare it is cheaper too. This is one venue where leaving the car at home is the easy call.
Getting home after
When the siren goes, head straight for Milton or Roma Street rather than waiting for the rush to thin, and you will usually be on a train within minutes. For the late finishes, our last service home from Suncorp Stadium page shows the nearest stations and the live last departures, and the last train home guide covers the after-dark timetable across the city. Caxton Street is right next door if you fancy one more before you go.
