The Workshops Rail Museum is at North Ipswich, in part of the railway workshops that have been operating on the site since 1864 and are still working today. It is a Queensland Museum site rather than a private attraction.
It is aimed squarely at families, with a lot of hands-on exhibits, but the heritage locomotives are worth the trip on their own.
