Alerts cover the headline problems; for your own train, the live departures board shows real predicted times for any station, and every station has its own page with a live board in the stations directory. If your service is gone, the journey planner finds the next best way from live data.

The longer answer: who's late most?

One bad morning is weather; a pattern is a story. We log every unplanned cancellation and major delay across the network, day after day, and rank the results on our reliability tracker — scheduled trackwork excluded, so a line closed for Cross River Rail works isn't unfairly branded unreliable. The full numbers, including causes like weather and industrial action, live in the network report.

Train delay questions

How do I check if my train is delayed right now?+

The live panel above shows current train delays and cancellations from the network feed. For your exact service, open the live departures board for your station — it shows real predicted times, not just the printed timetable.

Which Brisbane train line is the least reliable?+

We track that continuously: our reliability tracker ranks every line and route by unplanned cancellations and major delays, with scheduled trackwork excluded so the ranking is fair. It updates daily.

Why do trains run late in Brisbane?+

Day-to-day delays usually come from earlier incidents flowing on, crew and fleet availability, weather, and speed restrictions. That's different from planned weekend trackwork, which is scheduled in advance — our Cross River Rail works guide covers those closures.

Are the delay times shown live accurate?+

They come from TransLink's realtime feed, which predicts departures based on where each service actually is. Predictions firm up as the service approaches, so treat a delay figure as the network's best current estimate rather than a promise.

Live information on this page comes from TransLink's service alerts feed and updates automatically. Plan any trip with the journey planner.
