The late-night system, decoded
Friday and Saturday: NightLink trains run on the major lines into the early hours, joined by late-night buses — you have more rope than you think, but it's not infinite. Sunday to Thursday: the network closes down around midnight, and the only number that matters is your line's final departure. Either way, the winning move is the same: check last service home before the night starts, or your suburb's page in the last train home guides. Out in the Valley or at a gig?
Fortitude Valley is the best-connected late-night precinct — its station runs NightLink services and every gig venue around it is minutes from a ride home. What nights does NightLink run?+
Friday and Saturday nights, into the early hours of Saturday and Sunday morning — NightLink trains on major lines plus late-night buses. On other nights the network winds down around midnight, so the last scheduled service is the one that matters.
How do I know the last service home tonight?+

Does the flat fare apply after midnight?+
Yes — NightLink services are part of the Translink network, so the flat 50 cent fare applies to the late-night trains and buses like any other trip.
